Property in Aniane - A Guide to Aniane

The village of Aniane, although only having a population of around 200 has all the things that you need everyday life, from bakeries to grocery stores to a hardware store, a health food cooperative and several restaurants and cafes. Everything is within walking distance of the main part of the village, which allows you to try out the “shopping for food everyday” lifestyle that many people adopt once they’re in this part of the world.

The village has a playground, and lots of alleys and passageways, and an excellent glacier for ice cream, so the kids will be well catered to.

Aniane property mainly consists of houses, with only around 14% of the village being apartments. Around 11% of the property in Aniane is used as a second home for people travelling from other parts of France as well as further into Europe and beyond.

If you don’t mind doing some work, then a three bedroom village house in Aniane could be yours for under 100,000€. In fact I saw one advertised today for 74,000€. Don’t expect any outside space for this price. You’ll need to pay closer to 150,000€ for that. I saw a two bedroom house with a garden up for sale at 160,000€ last week.

Once you get over 150,000 – 175,000€ things get more interesting and the choice of terraces and gardens becomes a lot greater. Push over 300,000€ and a nice size villa with swimming pool or a huge period property could be yours for the taking.

Being only 45km from Montpellier, you can be at Montpellier airport for a flight back to the UK in around 45 mins. From Montpellier you can fly to Stansted with Ryanair or to Gatwick with British Airways.
