Euro Mortgages in FranceTaking a euro mortgage is a lot more straightforward than you might think. Taking a mortgage in Euros, or Francs as it used to be, used to a very daunting process for most, largely due to lack of information and the obvious language barrier. Franch banks have recently made changes that have made this much simpler. One of France's largest banks, and the largest banking establishment in the Languedoc, Credit Agricole has recntly set up it's "Key Finance" department. Based in Nimes, only an hour or so from my offices in Pezenas, the Credit Agricole Key Finance team has been set up to provide specialist euro mortgage advice with a 100% English speaking group of advisers. In order to apply for Euro Mortgage you simply need to speak to Credit Agricole's Frédéric Duval or one of his English speaking team and they will explain to you how the process works. Here is a list of documents that they require in order to start a Euro Mortgage application;
- 3 last pay slips
They will also need to see;
- The sale agreement or reservation contract for the house (or the land) you’re buying
The good news is that they make the whole process very straightforward and not half as scary as you might think. Clients of mine recently took out a euro mortgage with Credit Agricole Key Finance at a rate of just under 5% fixed for 25 years !!!!
