Florac is home to the headquarters of the Cévennes National Park. The town itself nestles at the foot of the "Rochefort", a dolomitic spur of the Causse Méjean (1012 m) and spreads out into the large river valley.

“La Source du pecher” which is where waterfalls tumble into the heart of the town and form clear, freshwater pools that are full of trout.
