Townhouses in Canet selling well

As I predicted, the moment these townhouses started to leek a bit like houses rather than looking like a messy building site, things started to happen.

Of the six houses in Canet that are being developed, there are only now three left.

This doesn't mean that it's only the dross that's left mind you. The units still available are actually some of my favourites. Units 1, 4 and 5 are available, number 4 being my favourite. With prices of these townhouses in Canet starting at €185,000 it's easy to see why. You can a good amount of space for your money, good build quality, 10 year guarantee, garage and terrace in a really nice village with plenty of commerce only 5 mins from the A75 motorway and about 30-40 mins from the beach.

To see more details of these houses before it's too late click here and type in the ref: CANPRO in the search reference box or call me on 00 33 467 00 11 71.

A cloudy day in Languedoc

I just popped in to the office to collect some post (Not re-opening after Christmas until Monday) and can report that the weather in Languedoc, or in Herault at least is a little dull today.

It's a cold day with a lot of cloud cover. It's quite nice to have the seasons, but as every year, when we get into January I start to look forward to the warm sumshine of spring.

The cold weather certainly doesn't put of house hunters looking to grab themselves a good Languedoc property and I can report that I already have a good number of people coming over to France looking for property in Languedoc, property in Herault and of course, property in Pezenas.

If you're looking to buy a house in Languedoc then contact us by calling 00 33 467 00 11 71 or emailing us.

Snow in the Languedoc !!!!!

So here I am in the sunny south of France, only 20 minutes from the Mediteranean sea where it regulary gets into the late 30's celcius in the height of summer and it's snowing!!!  That's right. You heard me correctly, snowing.

I'm sure it wopn't last but what fun it would be for the children if it settled a little for Christmas day.

Here's hoping.

BBC news - Google to offer property listings - How will this effect property in Languedoc?

Yesterday BBC News reported that Google, probably the best known internet search engine in the world is going to launch a "Property dimension" to it's UK mapping system.

The system will allow both Estate Agents and private individuals to list properties for free that will be shown as an overlay on google's maps.

Apparently there have been mixed responses over this, with shares in property portal "Right Move" falling by 10% at the announcement.

I'm not sure when this will come to France but am certain that it will. The question is, how will this affect property in Languedoc, property in Herault and of course property for sale in France as a whole.

I can see it as a good move although suppose that there must be some kind of filtering system that will be put in place otherwise google maps could get very crowded very quickly. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

In the meantime, if you're looking for property to buy in Languedoc or property to buy in Herault then call us on 00 33 467 00 11 71 or 020 7913 9341 from the UK to discuss your requirements.

domaine de Lavagnac scoops European property awards...........

The Domaine de Lavagnac, one of the finest examples of property in Languedoc we have seen for some time has just won several 5 star awards at the CNBC Arabiya European Property Awards, including best French golf development and best French development.

This, along with the ever increasing numbers of unit reservations at Domaine de Lavagnac underlines the point that in a time of economic uncertainty, Languedoc property and specifically Herault property is still very popular and continues to be seen as a sound investment.

If you would like to read about specific properties for sale at Domaine de Lavagnac then please follow this link and simply put LAV into the “Reference” box and then hit “SEARCH”.

If you’d like to see details of general property in Languedoc or Property in Herault that we have for sale then follow this link and hit “SEARCH” in the search property box in the top right of the screen.

Summer is coming to an end and demand for Property in Pezenas picks up

This year has not been quite the same as most other years. Normally I get to the end of August and look back at how quiet the property market has been. As you would expect, most people who are in Pezenas in July and August are here more for the beach than the property.

This year has been slightly different. I've actually been very bust these last 2 months and have made a bunch of sales. Perhaps this is a sign of an improvong market, perhaps it's nothing.

I personally feel that the market is bouncing back a bit and property in Pezenas is seeing a good level of interest from buyers compared to other parts of France.

The Languedoc region of France continues to receive a good press and is now rapidly becoming the region of choice for people who are looking for a mixture of great weather, wonderful landscape and good value property. You only have to look at the WOW website to see how much there is to do in the Herault department alone to understand why Property in Languedoc, Property in Herault and in particular, Property in Pezenas is standing tall in the wake of an economic crisis.

If you want my opinion this whole part of France is a very safe bet and slowly we are seeing more and more interesting properties for sale coming to the market at sensible prices.

The moto of this story is this.....................buy in the Herault/Pezenas and buy now !!!

New development of property in Canet is fantastic

I have just come back from a site visit of a new project of 6 village houses in the village of Canet, just of the A75 near Clermont l'Herault.

These properties in Canet are really starting to take shape and I have to say that I think they'r great.

When I first saw the drawings last year I liked them but to be honest it's only now I've actually walked through them that they really apeal to me.

Think of them as well laid out, good sized village houses with big garages and nice sized, wide terraces at first floor level leading out from the reception room.

The prices are pretty much OK and I would strongly suggest a site visit to this property in Canet if you are lookig for a village house in the Herault in the 200,000€ region.

A++++

I'll get details of these Languedoc properties onto our "Property for sale" section of the website over the next few days.
