Lespignan is a pretty village located about ten kilometres south of Beziers, just off junction 36 of the A9 motorway.

Lespignan has a population of approx 2500 people and approx 1200 properties. The vast majority (over 91%) of Lespignan properties are houses rather than apartments. Some of these houses can be very good value for money. Today I saw a one bedroom village house of some 90 square metres needing a lot of work advertised for 40,000€. For someone who doesn’t mind getting the builders in this is pretty good value.

Most Lespingan property consists of two bedrooms or more, with the biggest concentration being larger than four bedrooms. These are a mixture of old period houses and modern built villas. The older properties can offer the best value but should be approached with caution as most need a fair bit of updating.

In the region of 200,000€ will get you a newly built villa of approx 100 sqm. This will have a garden and parking. If you fancy something larger, then the sky’s the limit. Expect to pay upwards of 350,000€ for a three/four bedroom villa with large garden and swimming pool.

Lespignan has a good selection of commerce, including three general stores, three boulangeries, three hairdressers, a butchers and a bar. It also has a restaurant, “ HOSTELLERIE DU CHATEAU” on rue des Figuiers, a tabac and a chemist.

Having easy access to the A9 motorway means that you can be at either of three airports, Carcassonne, Montpellier or Perpignan in less than an hour. Each of these airports has flights back to the UK that take around two hours.
