Property in Lozere - A Guide to Lozere

Property in Lozere hasn’t been as popular with holiday home owners as a rule because of its inland location. It is also to do with the fact that both Nimes Airport and Montpellier Airport are quite a long drive away.

If however you prefer the hills, mountains and countryside to the busy beaches and bustling ports then the Lozere area could be the better option for you.

Traditionally the area relied on Agriculture to survive and although this is still an important element to the economy tourism is standing side by side with it.

It’s not really the type of tourism that you find 100 kms away on the beaches of Port Camargue. The tourism in the Lozere is sport and peace and quiet! The main activities on offer in the area basically sum up the type of tourist it receives: kayaking, caving, climbing and skiing are the main things to do.

Don’t be put off by this though if you are considering buying a holiday or investment property here. This is the kind of tourism that goes on throughout the year and although the population swells during the summer month’s people still come here for skiing and caving over the winter months.

Our advice is to stick to the main towns and resorts on the coast if you are buying the property purely as an investment. If on the other hand you want to enjoy the property yourselves throughout the year and or enjoy the “outdoor” lifestyle then Lozere is as good a place to buy property as any!
