The village of Neffies is one of the more popular with Brits looking to buy property in the Languedoc. Neffies is a small, hillside village and subsequently Nefies property can have some lovely views across the local countryside. The typical French village house from this region of France is well represented in Neffies, with many properties having retained all the original character that makes them so popular to us Brits. Old stone walls, exposed wooden beams, wobbly old walls and even the odd courtyard garden. Most people looking to buy a permanent or holiday home in this part of France all have one thing in common. They all want to be able to sit outside in a garden or on a terrace and soak up the all important sunshine that’s so lacking in the UK. In order to be able to buy a property in Neffies with outside space you should be looking at a budget in excess of 150,000€. A very nice, newly refurbished village house recently sold in Neffies for around 175,000€. This was laid out over three floors, with a garage on the ground floor and living space over first and second floors. It had lots of original features but had been professionally refurbished throughout to give two/three bedrooms, reception room, large kitchen/dining room, bathroom and shower room. On the top floor it had a lovely sunny terrace with views across the village and it’s neighbouring vineyards. Neffies has a small general shop, a bakers and a bar that does lunchtime snacks. It even has a local pizza van that comes round once a week, parks up outside the bar and makes the most wonderful pizzas. Simply order your pizza and retire to the bar for a quick drink while you wait. Neffies is only about a fifteen minute drive from the local town of Pezenas, and about an hour (80km) from Montpellier airport. Both Nimes and Carcassonne airports can be reached in about an hour and a half.
