With just over 1000 permanent residents Peyriac Minervois can be found to the north of Carcassonne, not far from Conques Sur Orbiel and La Redorte. If you are driving head for the D610 and follow the signs.

There are just fewer than 500 actual properties in Peyriac Minervois and of these only 8.5% are used as holiday homes by foreign nationals or other French Nationals. There are a few apartments within the village but the majority of the property is made up of family type properties, mostly 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses.

We have noticed a few properties on the market in the village. One property was a completely derelict barn which only measured 30 sqm and was on the market for just €47,500. Good, decent sized townhouses will cost upwards of €85,000 and we spotted a good villa on the edge of town set in a plot of 1310 sqm, the 229 sqm house had 4 bedrooms and was on the market for €336,300.

The village has one hotel, Chateau de Violet, a small three star hotel with just 12 rooms, car parking and it’s own outdoor swimming pool.

There is both a café and a restaurant within the village along with a couple of Boulangeries, a butchers shop and a Pharmacy.

Getting to Peyriac Minervois is not that difficult. The closest airport is at Carcassonne which is just 26kms away. Ryanair fly into Carcassonne from Nottingham East Midlands, Stansted, Liverpool, Brussels and Dublin.

It is also possible to fly into any of the following airports: Toulouse Airport, Perpignan Airport, Montpellier Airport, and Nimes Airport, all of which offer regular flights from the UK and Ireland.
