project, up to more than 1,000,000€ for a beautiful period property

The village of Roujan is one of the more popular with foreigners looking to buy a holiday home. One of the reasons for this could be it’s charming old streets lined with interesting looking village houses. Mostly laid out over three floors, many with garages at the bottom, Roujan property can sometimes offer hidden jewels. Due to the fact that one side of Roujan is set on a hill, some houses have spectacular views across the countryside towards villages such as Neffies and Fontes. I’ve been lucky enough to visit one house in the heart of the old town with the most fantastic hidden garden with almost panoramic views down onto the local vineyards.
Roujan’s popularity could be due to several reasons. It’s less than ten minutes in the car from Pezenas, a local hub for shopping, restaurants and culture. It has it’s fair share of bars serving food as well as drink, and it’s got enough local shops to keep you supplied with bread, meat, cheese and all the other daily necessities without the need to get the car out. The large town of Beziers is about half an hours drive away, while just under an hour can have you in the terminal at Montpellier airport ready to take a two hour flight back to the UK.
