La Tamarissiere is a small family oriented beachfront village along the river from Agde, France's second oldest town.
Just follow the river Herault south from Agde and you’ll arrive at the small collection of villas and apartments that make up La Tamarissiere.

La Tamarissiere makes an ideal spot to enjoy the quieter beaches of the Languedoc and get away from the throng of July and August holiday makers. Of course it gets busy here but considerably less than more commercial places such as Cap d’Agde.
If you’re thinking of buying a property in La Tamarissiere then you’ve basically got the choice of a villa in La Tamarissiere or an apartment in La Tamarissiere. Being such a small place and being right on the beach prices in La Tamarissiere are not cheap, and some of the villas have a river frontage which puts the price up again. For a lot of people looking for property in La Tamarissiere boating is a real priority and if you’re lucky you can find a villa or even an apartment with a mooring outside. As far as I know, moorings at La Tamarissiere are rented from the Mairie rather than owned so to get one you’re looking at a bit of a waiting list. I believe that people have the right to transfer a mooring to a second partie so you may find a villa in La Tamarissiere or an apartment in La Tamarissiere where the seller is prepared to transfer his mooring as well.
I have many many happy childhood memories of holidays here. My parents bought a small studio apartment in La Tamarissiere with a terrace overlooking the river and we used to travel down every summer. It was great.
From our apartment in “Les Jardins de La Tamarissiere” it was exactly 800m from the beach which took us about 10 minutes to walk. At one point we even managed to secure a mooring and had a small boat.
The beach is lovely and never gets overly busy in the summer and makes a wonderful place to get away from life in the out of season months.
I can highly recommend a property in La Tamarissiere.
