Trebes is a good size town with a population of between 5,500 and 6000 people. It lies on the outskirts of Carcassonne (8kms) and is off the D610.

The town is made up of some 2300 properties. Most of these (90%) are used as a principle residence and the majority offer “family” accommodation in the shape of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom property. There are quite a number of apartments in Trebes.

When we were conducting our research for this website we found a couple of interesting properties on the market in Trebes. One was small 2 bedroom house that needed to be completely renovated and was on the market for just €66,000. The other was a good looking 3/4 bedroom villa with some 130 sqm of space set in a plot of 460 sqm. This house was on the market for €210,000.

There are 2 hotels in Trebes, the Hotel Andalousie and the 2 star Hotel La Gentilhommiere which has its own swimming pool and private parking area. There is also a campsite nearby with around 70 pitches.

The town’s needs are served by a selection of local shops. The large supermarkets and of course a whole host of restaurants and shops can be found in Carcassonne itself which is just 8 kms away.

Carcassonne also has a fairly active airport which receives a number of flights from Ryanair. You can fly directly into Carcassonne from Nottingham East Midlands, Liverpool, Stansted and Dublin.
