What a fabulous renovation project! This large character home is in a very calm spot with a river running by and is just waiting for someone to restore it to its former glory... or to a comfortable family home.
The house has lots of history and great bones and is open to interpretation. Part of the land is constructible so you can add a pool or convert the outbuildings (subject to permission) and a large part of the land is a natural zone so your view will never be blocked.
We believe the house was built in the 13th century though it is possible that some parts are older. It was originally a mill and the millstones are still in the cellar (This could be a great summer kitchen / cool dining room leading to the garden). Apparently the bishops of the area came to eat in the large dining hall with its arched ceilings and massive chimney and bread oven.
The rooms at the front all have beautiful views and large windows and while some internal walls are structural others (most likely) are not so you can adjust the layout to allow for some very large rooms or keep the existing layout. The house is in two parts, the first has 3 floors plus the attic where the roof has been replaced and the other has two floors and the roof needs either reworking or replacing.
There are also outbuildings that could be converted to further living space (situated on the constructible section) or garages or workshops.
